Understanding the letter you received

If The Pfleiderer Firm LLC wrote to you about a mechanic's lien, this page explains what that letter is, what a lien is, and the ways you can review and respond to the claim. It is general information only — not legal advice.

What the letter is

A contractor, subcontractor, or supplier recorded a mechanic's lien with the county and has asked The Pfleiderer Firm LLC to pursue the claim. The letter identifies that recorded lien and includes a code you can use to view it online.

To be clear about roles: The Pfleiderer Firm LLC represents the lien claimant, not you. You are free to consult an attorney of your own choosing at any time.

What a mechanic's lien is

A mechanic's lien is a claim recorded in the county public record by someone who says they furnished labor or materials for a property and was not fully paid. It is attached to the property itself. The details you can view online — the amount claimed, the property, the filing information — mirror the county record.

How to respond

The secure portal is the way to handle this

The code printed on your letter opens the recorded lien and everything connected to it in one place. Online you can see exactly what is claimed, review any options in writing before you act, resolve the claim, or tell us you dispute it — with every step documented for you. Required disclosures are shown before you proceed.

If you believe the claim is wrong

Enter your code and tell us you dispute the claim — the portal records your dispute and its date. You also have the right to consult an attorney of your own choosing.

What happens next

Everything you see and agree to in the portal is shown in writing first, and you keep a record of each step. Your letter is the controlling document — refer to it for any dates or instructions it contains.

Can't use your code — it expired, or you don't have internet access? Contact the office so we can get you a working code or take your response another way.
